Bowen Pirogues Baseman

Brian won his first Great Race from Trinidad to Tobago back in 1976 with a Pirogue that he piloted himself.

That year was one of the roughest races with all the Big Boys of the day breaking down. The Bowen Pirogue handles these waves with ease and became the first pirogue to win the Great Race. The Pirogue is a unique design built for Caribbean fishermen. Brian modernized the traditional wooden boat and started making a fiberglass boat in 1978.
With its high bow and narrow hull at the bottom, it is designed to go through big waves and continues the tradition of keeping its crew dry. The pirogue is available in 27- or 32-foot models and can be equipped with twin engines for the safety-minded fisherman. Available with a live bait well, the
Baseman is truly a fisherman's vessel.
